As mentioned in yesterday's post, the chapel was originally the reliquary of some very valuable items which naturally required very sturdy doors!
And, of course, responsible doorkeepers ...
The brass angels below seem to have been tasked with maintaining a record of who visited Sainte-Chapelle.
I noticed that they were on duty when I studied the very elaborate locking system on the chapel doors.
