PONT DE SULLY

The Pont de Sully is in fact two separate bridges linking the 4th and 5th arrondissements with the eastern tip of the Île Saint-Louis, in between.

The present bridge was constructed in 1876 as part of Haussman's grand renovation of Paris and was named after the Duke of Sully who had been one of King Henry IV's ministers.

This photograph was taken on a gloriously sunny mid-December afternoon.
