In the centre of the Chatelet Square on the right bank of the Seine one finds this monument celebrating Napoleon’s victories in Prussia, Austria, Italy and Egypt.
The goddess, Victory stands with arms raised holding two laurel wreaths welcoming home the victorious French armies returning from their campaigns. She is joined at the base of the column by Prudence, Temperance, Justice and Strength, whose attributes presumably contributed to Napoleon’s successes.
