ENCORE BLEU, BLANC ET ROUGE ...

To celebrate my blog's third month of existence, I again post something in blue, white and red!

While walking along the Seine, this banner caught my eye, not only for its colourful simplicity, but also because of the profound truth expressed in its message!

Research later revealed that the banner was outside the American Church in Paris and referred to an annual daylong seminar which the church has hosted since 1970.  The seminar is designed to assist English-speaking newcomers to France in their integration into la vie francaise!

The phrase, "bloom where you're planted" has been attributed to a variety of authors, song-writers, etc, but I believe that its author was Saint Francis de Sales who wrote, 

"Truly charity has no limit; for the love of God has been poured into our hearts by His Spirit dwelling in each one of us, calling us to a life of devotion and inviting us to bloom in the garden where He has planted and directing us to radiate the beauty and spread the fragrance of His Providence."
